Impact Taxidermy School
Congratulations on taking either the first step or next step towards becoming a taxidermist! Impact Taxidermy School located in Stilwell, Kansas. Class size is limited to 14 so that everyone gets one-on-one instruction to learn the skills needed to be successful. By the end of the Month Course you will be confident to begin customer projects and work towards a successful taxidermy business. There is a lot to learn, but my goal is to keep it fun and enjoyable. Below you will see the breakdown of the four weeks in the Month Course, and also information about the one-week fish reproduction course. I hope to see you all soon!

Week 1
Birds
In week one, you will mount two birds; a standing pheasant and flying pheasant, as well as basic habitat techniques. These two birds will cover a majority of the things you'll encounter throughout your taxidermy career.
Week 2
Life-size Mammal
Week two is an exciting one! You will learn how to skin, flesh, tan and mount a life-size mammal. Everyone will mount a provided raccoon or mammal of your choice which you provide. In making these fine show room pieces you will also learn how to prep and build your own habitat base.
Week 3
Deer Shoulder Mount
Week 3 is deer week! like in week two you will learn how to flesh, tan and prep a form for mounting, along with all the coaching on fine details to make a lasting clean mount.
Week 4
Fish Course
During fish week you will mount two fish a trout and a bass. This class will cover the two types of fish you will encounter in your taxidermy career, a cold water fish and warm water fish. You will learn how to skin, flesh and wash a fish skin along with the proper mounting techniques along with making a paint schedule and using color so that the fish looks as if it was just pulled from the water.
